Ils enqu\u00eatent sur des traces, interrogent le souvenir, tournent autour du manque et de l&rsquo;absence.<br \/>Ils tentent de d\u00e9velopper ce qu\u2019on pourrait appeler un <em>romanesque documentaire<\/em>, fond\u00e9 sur des lieux, un r\u00e9cit subjectif, une voix int\u00e9rieure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>La Quatri\u00e8me g\u00e9n\u00e9ration<\/strong>\u201d et \u201c<strong>Trois Soldats allemands<\/strong>\u201d, au croisement du r\u00e9cit intime et de la grande Histoire, \u00e9voquent la saga familiale du r\u00e9alisateur dans la Lorraine du 20\u00e8me si\u00e8cle.<br \/><strong>\u201cL&rsquo;Affaire Val\u00e9rie<\/strong>\u201d et <strong>\u00ab\u00a0Une Jeunesse amoureuse<\/strong>\u201d enqu\u00eatent sur la m\u00e9moire des lieux et la disparition d&rsquo;\u00eatres chers.<\/p>\n<p>Ces\u00a0 quatre films, loin de tout r\u00e9alisme, essaient de mettre en sc\u00e8ne une part invisible du r\u00e9el.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Quatre autres films font un retour historique sur l\u2019ambivalence de l&rsquo;utopie au 20\u00e8me si\u00e8cle : sa face lumineuse, qui a suscit\u00e9 l\u2019enthousiasme et inspir\u00e9 de vastes projets ; sa face sombre, qui a but\u00e9 sur la question du pouvoir et men\u00e9 aux d\u00e9sastres.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>Esp\u00e9rance, lettres sur l&rsquo;engagement<\/strong>\u201d et \u201c<strong>Triptyque russe<\/strong>\u201d (dont fait partie \u201c<strong>La voix des morts<\/strong>\u201d, volet d\u00e9tach\u00e9 du Triptyque) rappellent comment l&rsquo;id\u00e9al communiste s&rsquo;est trop souvent retourn\u00e9, brisant les r\u00eaves de ceux qui voulaient changer le monde et promouvoir un homme nouveau.<br \/>Sur un mode plus burlesque, \u201c<strong>Bienvenue \u00e0 Bataville<\/strong>\u201d raconte comment une utopie patronale sectaire, l&rsquo;entreprise de chaussures con\u00e7ue par Thomas Bata, a impos\u00e9 pendant un demi-si\u00e8cle \u00e0 une bourgade lorraine son exigence d\u00e9lirante de bonheur obligatoire.<\/p>\n<p>On peut y joindre aussi le film <strong>\u201cM\u00e9decins de brousse\u201d<\/strong> (non encore r\u00e9f\u00e9renc\u00e9 sur ce site), qui raconte l\u2019aventure des m\u00e9decins militaires fran\u00e7ais dans l&rsquo;Afrique des ann\u00e9es 30.
